Boliteros and caribbean mobsters against the Italian-Jewish mafia in new york, 1920s to 1960s
Translation from Spanish by Marcela Gómez Lugo
This book has the pace of a movie script, the intrigue of an underworld novel and the depth of a history book. In Children of Defiance, Luis Alfredo López Rojas has created an absorbing book that originally narrates the events of the war for control of illegal gambling that took place in the depths of New York City from the 1920s to the 1960s. A ruthless struggle in which Caribbean boliteros confronted the Italian-Jewish Mafia.
